Sarah Wing (Stephen, Rev. John, Matthew)

Sarah Wing was born February 5, 1658/59 in Sandwich, Plymouth Colony to Stephen Wing and Sarah Briggs. Like all of her brothers and sisters, Sarah was no doubt born in the Old Fort House that still stands in Sandwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts.

Sarah married Robert Gifford in July of 1680 at Sandwich, Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts. Robert, like Sarah, was born in Sandwich to William Gifford and and Elizabeth Grant. It is also reported by other Gifford family historians that Sarah was Robert Gifford's 2nd wife...his first wife being Elizabeth Unknown who apparently did not have any children by Robert Gifford.

Sarah Wing Gifford would die at the age of 61 years old on June 26, 1720 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. Robert Giffort died after 1724 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, his will was probated and proved on April 21, 1730.

Update:
It seems that Robert Giffords father, William was married 3 different times and had children by each wife...his first wife, Patience Russell was supposedly the mother of 4 of William's children: John, Hannah, Patience & Hannaniah (?). The 2nd wife, Elizabeth Grant was the mother of William, Robert & Christopher. The 3rd wife, Mary Mills was the mother of James, Jonathan and Mary.

4. Stephen Gifford, born about 1687 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.

5. Rebecca Gifford, born about 1689 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.

6. Timothy Gifford, born about 1691 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.

7. Anne Gifford, born about 1693 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.

8. Lydia Gifford, born about 1695 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.

9. Simeon Gifford, born about 1697 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.
