SON OF JOHN WING AND MARTHA SPOONER

Joseph Wing (John Wing, Daniel Wing, Rev. John, Matthew) born December 23, 1686 at Rochester. Joseph died December 2, 1715 at Rochester at the age of 28. He married Dorothy Butler on January 23, 1710/11 at Sandwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts. the marriage was solemized before William Basset, Justice of the Peace. Dorothy was born at Sandwich about 1687, the daughter of Daniel Butler and Elizabeth House. Just to keep things interesting, after Joseph Wing's death, in fact about 12 or 13 years after Joseph's death, Dorothy Butler Wing remarried. When she remarried she married Jasub Wing, Joseph Wing's Uncle. Just in case that wasn't complicated enough...Jasub's son, Daniel Wing married Elizabeth Wing, the daughter of Joseph Wing and Dorothy Butler. Joseph Wing and Dorothy Butler had the following children: 1. William Wing, born December 2, 1711 2. James Wing, born 1712 3. Elizabeth Wing, born May 10, 1714 4. Joseph Wing Jr, born May 28, 1716
