SON OF JOSEPH WING AND JERUSHA MAYHEW
Joseph Wing (Joseph Wing, John Wing, Rev. John Wing, Matthew Wing) was
born about 1678 to Joseph Wing and Jerusha Mayhew. Thomas Eaton bequeathed
to Joseph Wing on March 25, 1687one hundred and forty acres in Shrewsbury
Township. Joseph exchanged that land with Dr. John Stewart of Shrewsbury,
New Jersey on March 10, 1700. Joseph Wing died October 15, 1710 in Shrewsbury,
Monmouth Co., New Jersey at about 31 years of age. Joseph Wing (Joseph, John,
Rev. John, Matthew) married Ann Lippincott on July 2, 1701 in Shrewsbury,
Monmouth Co., East Jersey. Ann was born June 17, 1680 at Shrewsbury, Monmouth
Co., East Jersey to John Lippincott and Ann Barber. Joseph and Ann were Quakers
and Joseph was frequently a witness to marriages performed at the Shrewsbury
Meeting House of Friends.1710...October 15...Joseph Wing (Joseph Wing, John
Wing, Rev. John Wing, Matthew Wing) dies on October 15, 1710 in Shrewsbury,
Monmouth Co., New Jersey.. Apparently Joseph's wife remarried...because she
is known as Ann Colvin in most history records. It is not known who she remarried
at this time. Joseph Wing (Joseph Wing, John Wing, Rev. John Wing, Matthew
Wing) dies. Joseph Wing's estate was administered on October 15, 1719, Stephen
Colvin was the administrator.
Joseph Wing and Ann Lippincott had 2 known children: 1. Joseph Wing (known as Captain Joseph Wing) (Joseph Wing, John Wing, Rev. John Wing, Matthew Wing) born about 1703 to Joseph Wing and Ann Lippincott. 2.Sarah Wing (Joseph Wing, John Wing, Rev. John Wing, Matthew Wing)is born in Shrewsbury, Monmouth Co., East Jersey about 1705 to Joseph Wing and Ann Lippincott. Sarah reportedly married William Corliss (Corlies) Sr. on January 13, 1731. William was the son of George Corlies and Exercise Shattock. There is other reported evidence that states that William possibly died before 1731. William was the son of George Corlies and Exercise Shattock.
