MARY GIFFORD
DAUGHTER OF SARAH WING AND ROBERT GIFFORD

Mary Gifford (Sarah Wing, Stephen Wing, Rev. John, Matthew) born about 1683 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts. Mary died January, 1772 at Dartmouth at the approximate age of 88. Mary married Nathan Soule on June 12, 1704 at Dartmouth. Nathan was born between 1675 and 1680 at Dartmouth, the son of George Soule and Deborah Thomas (?) Nathan Soule would become known forever as Lieutenant Nathan Soule...why exactly is unclear. It probably is because he fought in Indian wars. (If anyone can help with this, please write). Lt. Nathan Soule has often been confused with his cousin, Nathan Soule who married Mercy/Mary Gifford and had 6 children. Nathan died September 10, 1736 at Dartmouth at the age of 59. He made a will at Dartmouth on November 14, 1735, the inventory was taken on October 15, 1736 and was finally probated on October 20, 1736. Amount of estate is unknown. Mary Wing Soule made a will in Dartmouth on January 7, 1772, inventory taken January 16, 1772, probated on January 27, 1772. Amount of estate unknown. Mary Gifford and Nathan Soule had the following children: 1. Content Soule, born May 29, 1705 2. John Soule, born November 20, 1707 3. George Soule, born August 15, 1709 4.
