SAMUEL WING
SON OF JOHN WING AND MARTHA SPOONER

Samuel Wing (John Wing, Daniel Wing, Rev. John, Matthew) born November 12, 1704 at Rochester, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts. Samuel died March 4, 1773 at Rochester at 68 years old. Samuel married Anne Barlow on January 1, 1728/29 at Rochester. Anne was the daughter of Moses Barlow and Hannah Wing. There is some question about whether or not to claim with certainty that Anne Barlow is also a Wing descendant. For one thing...it has not been proven definitely that her mother Hannah Wing was indeed the daughter of John Wing, grandson of John, Great grandson of Rev. John. Secondly, although it seems certain that this Anne Barlow is the same Anne Barlow as the daughter of Moses Barlow and Hannah Wing, it still lacks proof. It is my understanding that there had been some debate as to whether or not to assign Anne Barlow a Owl number, but to date they have been unable to prove Hannah Wing's lineage. Samuel Wing was elected Town clerk in Rochester and he was also a farmer in Rochester, Monroe Co., New York. It is believed that Anne Barlow, born March 23, 1698/99 was the daughter of Moses Barlow and Hannah Wing. She was born in Rochester, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts. Anne died January 11, 1778 at the age of 79. Samuel Wing and Anne Barlow had the following children: 1. David Wing, born October 8, 1729 2. Jonathan Wing, born October 8, 1729. Jonathan died young. 3. Jonathan Wing, born July 31, 1731 .4. Content Wing, born December 14, 1733, died August 14, 1784 at Rochester at the age of 50. 5. Thankful Wing, born November 12, 1734 6. Hannah Wing, born February 19, 1736. Hannah lived a little longer than a year old...she died February 27, 1736 at Rochester. 7. Samuel Wing, born October 24, 1738 8. Stephen (Captain) Wing, born March 18, 1740
