William Spooner, (Experience Wing, Daniel Wing, Rev. John, Matthew), born February 13, 1688/89 at Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts. William Spooner's date of death is not certain at this time. His will was apparently made on November 23, 1748 and finally settled on May 4, 1750 at Dartmouth. In his will, William mentions his wife, Mercy, and his sons, Nathaniel, Joseph and Samuel and his daughters, Mary Spooner and Anna Spooner. William Spooner married Mercy Delano in Duxborough, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts on November 25, 1713. Mercy was born about 1697 at Dixburrow, the daughter of John Delano and Mary Weston. Mercy's date of death is unknown at this time. William Spooner was a farmer and a man of some importance in the town of Dartmouth. He held a variety of positions of responsibility and trust and he was also the constable for a period of time. William Spooner and Mercy Delano had the following children: 1. Phillip Spooner, born November 9, 1714 at Dartmouth, it is believed that Phillip died young. 2. Nathaniel Spooner, born September 10, 1716 3. Joseph Spooner, born May 19, 1718 4.
