From the Genealogy of the Nye Family
WILL OF JEMIMA NYE
In the Name of God Amen, this fourth day of April Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine I Jemima Nye of Falmouth in the County of Barnstable in the Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England do make and ordain this my last will and Testament. Imprimis I Give my soul to God that Gave it and my body to the ground to be buried att the discretion of my Executor after named and as touching such worldly goods or Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose of in the following manner & form: Item. First I give to my daughter in law Mary Hatch my suit of Curtains. I give to my Daughter in Law Sarah Lawrence my blew Calamence gown. I Give to my cousin Stephen Swift one coverlid one pair of bed blankets one pair of sheets two spinning wheels one chest with one draw in it to him and his heirs. Item. I Give to Shubal Nye whom I appoint and ordain sole Executor of this my last will and Testament all the other estate or Goods of all sorts whatsoever or wheresoever the same is or can be found to be to him and his heirs and I give in and upon condition that he pay my Just debts and funeral charges. Lastly. I Do hereby revoke all former will or wills by me made and ratify and confirm this as my last will and Testament In witness whereof I the said Jemima Nye have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written. her JEMIMA X NYE (L.
