| Michigan The Great Lakes State Michigan is bordered by four of the five Great Lakes: Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Erie and, of course, Lake Michigan. The lakes divide the land into two peninsulas. A peninsula is a piece of land surrounded by water on three sides. |
| Wisconsin The Badger State Wisconsin produces more milk than any other state. It also produces 40 percent of the cheese and 20 percent of the butter eaten in the United States. No wonder Wisconsinites call themselves "cheeseheads." |
| Minnesota The land of 10,000 lakes. Three million cows live and graze in Minnesota. For a while the settlement that would become St. Paul was known as Pig's Eye, after the Canadian fur trader that lived there. |
| The Seventh District of the WFA (Wing Family of America, Inc.) is very well represented by District Representative, Sharon Wing Wheeler. Sharon, and the Seventh District represents Michigan, Wisconsin & Minnesota. The three states that the Seventh District represents have a total of 81 members: Michigan boasts 50 members of the WFA Wisconsin has 16 members of the WFA Minnesota has 15 members of the WFA Come on Wisconsin & Minnesota....I know there are more Wing family descendants lurking in those wonderful states than what are represented here. | Sharon Wheeler is the lady on the far right. This picture was taken at the Wing Reunion at Cape Cod in June, 2008. Sharon is seated next to her mother, Barbara Louise Bradbury Wing. Her mother is seated next to a Wing cousin, Katie Wing Vigil, who is seated next to another Wing cousin, Robin Frazier. Sharon is descended from John Wing & Elizabeth Dillingham through their son, Ananias Wing and his wife, Hannah Tilton. Please, don't hesitate to write to Sharon and make some contact! |
