WING FAMILY PHOTO ALBUM & DOCUMENTS
What you will find here are individual histories of our Wing family cousins. These folks have submitted
their histories and photographs to be shared with all of us at this site. I am always glad to receive
another set of pictures and a story to go with it. I believe this is a part of the reason that the Wing
Family of America, Inc. has survived for as long as it has. I hope it survives for another 106 years and
if our membership grows like it has been, it will.
It might be that our story is so American and so average & unique at the
same time. It might be that it was because we can really trace our roots back
to the William & Francis and it's unexpected arrival at the Massachusetts Bay
Colony. Our great grandfather, Rev. Stephen Bachiler and his determination
that his family would remain together for as long as possible has probably
found it's way into our genes and if that is true, we are doubly blessed.
I am so proud that we will be celebrating our 106th Anniversary this summer at Cape Cod by
having a down home family reunion at the place where it all started. A place where we can
gather, at the Wing Family Fort House that has been in our family since Stephen Wing bought it
in 1647. We actually own our own historical monument. How many other families can make that
claim? How many can toss over a hundred years of OWL's at someone and say, "This is my
family history." Not many.
We had family members that fought for America in the Revolution and we had family members that
fought for the British in the Revolution. So many Wings went to Canada and so many came back
and many returned and many remained. We are all of that and more. We are the Wing Family of
America, of Canada, of the United Kingdom, of Alaska and Hawaii and Germany and every other
place you can think of.  We are enormous and we are one. We are humbly proud of our roots
and we are very blessed. Maybe that is why we have remained so close to our roots and the first
real hearth and home that nurtured us. We are truly family.
